Sharon Stones says quake was 'karma'

Sharon Stone said that its China's karma for the Sichuan earthquake.

Alright, my intention to post this article is not to target Sharon Stone, China or Tibet. What I want is to share my view about the word KARMA. I am a firm believer in karma because I miraculously changed my life from a stupid & miserable girl to a happy lady leading a satisfying life (and now equipped with a not fantastic but adequate brain).

WARNING: Stop reading this post if you are worried about getting bored to death. Read the next post instead. Thank you!

I used to be a stubborn and temperamental kid. I said unkind words not because I want to, but because I couldnt keep my temper in control. My childhood was a mess. I knew deep down that I am a good person but I just keep making the people around me mad and/or sad. I was a rag doll, I had depression as a kid, I had suicide thoughts as early as 7yrs old and keep blaming god for whatever mishap that happened to me.

I was so sick of my life that I started thinking, 'what is real happiness'? I began my quest for a formula to happiness. Fate brought me to Buddhism... I used to be a free thinker. My family is Buddhist/Taoist. I prayed with them but I never truly believed it.

One fine day... alright... maybe not one fine day, maybe its a rainy day, a warm sunny day or whatever weather that is ... I cant remember.. Just all of the sudden, I had a interest in reading up on buddhism. What I found was simple common senses in 'it'. The rules of leading a happy life was so simple and yet so hard for us human to follow completely.

The simple rules to basic common senses / buddhism:

Rule No 1
Never follow blindly in anything (even Buddhism. Please...NEVER follow it if you think it's not right). Use your eyes to see, your ears to hear, your brain to think and process WITHOUT PREJUDICE. (The simple way to do this is to calm yourself down and think without any feelings involved).

Rule No 2
Be patience. Learn to control your temper. Practise makes perfect.

Rule No 3
Cultivate a compassionate heart. Learn to be truly concern about the less fortunate. Help others whenever you can (not only money wise).

Rule No 4
Take responsibility in everything. If everything is your responsibility, that means you are IN CONTROL. When you are in control, you are THE BOSS.
For example, when someone makes you angry or make things difficult for you, YOU HAVE THE OPTION. Negatively, you get mad and upset. Positively, you keep your cool and deal with the situation by either finding a solution or ignore that person if you cant find any solution. This is always EASIER SAID THAN DONE. But once you are convinced that this is the only way out, you will do anything to achieve that. Keep on practising this simple 'formula' in every situation. You will realise that you are getting happier and happier, day by day, month by month, year by year.

Well that's what I did and still doing since years ago. I still get mad every now and then but I dont lose heart and I keep trying because when you are not angry, you are happy. I felt happier each time when I succeeded. (Well, another reason is that, I want to be THE BOSS! To be IN CONTROL!)

Rule No 5
BE SELFISH when it comes to happiness. Make yourself happy before making others happy (Not involving hurting anyone else that is). Why? Because only when you are happy can you make people around you happy too. YOUR MOOD AFFECT THE ONES AROUND YOU!

Finally, what does all this bring you or me?
Wisdom + Good Karma = Happiness

Ok, back to the article. Sharon Stone's words was slightly harsh on the ears of the earthquake victims and the people who pity China. She should have explain her usage of the word Karma.

I have to agree on one thing, that it's Karma for natural disaster to happen (Not only in China). Bad things happen because of karma. The thing that I dont agree with Sharon Stone is that she said China get karma because they bullied Tibet. Who are we to judge whether they get retribution because of certain reasons? Only god knows why because god is the one that make the decision of who to punish. We dont know god personally, we dont know god's exact address or contact nos (we only know that GOD is UP THERE)so we cant ask god. We can only say MAYBE. MAYBE this is the reason, maybe that is the reason. Never be so sure.

Please dont think that I am CRUEL. I am NOT. Saying someone gets karma doesnt mean that I hate that person. I am neutral in this situation. Neither angry nor happy. However, I do deeply empathise with the pains of victims from the earthquakes and that they deserve help and concern from us.

To make my point clearer, I take myself as an example. When I think back on how I suffered during my 'abnormal' childhood, I know that its karma for my suffering. I suffered because I did something wrong in my previous lives. I dont know what I did but I thank god that gave me a chance to reincarnate, to start anew.

I do my best to clear my bad karma and gain good karma for this life and the next(s). I thank god that provided me with good people whom helped me gain strength and courage to carry on building good karma despite the pain I was in. I pulled through and gain many things.

The idea is, Karma exists. When someone suffered, it's because of Karma. When you help them, you are building good karma. When they are grateful for your help, they help other people to repay you. They in turn gain good karma. This is a never ending chain of cultivating good karma. It links us all together.

Ok, this will never end if I dont stop. End of grandma story. You can sleep now... zzZ....zzzZ....

It's another Saturday... Time to enjoy my favourite breakfast

My favourite breakfast! Coffee with a large Del Monte banana. I just cant seem to get enough of it. It's almost a daily addiction. People keep giving me those 'huh' look on their face when I tell them that I eat banana with coffee. But those 'doubtfuls' out there, I have two words for you...'Try It!' You might get addicted too!

The best part of it (dont get disgusted), is that it gets your bowels moving! Nope, not diarrhoea, its the normal 'poo poo' that everyone should do daily as recommended by doctors.
