Hansang Korean Family Restaurant at Novena Square 2

Sunday, 30th November 2008

Belated but nice and happy birthday outing for me and kerry.

Regina and Kerry posing for the first shot.

In the middle are two shiny stars of the event ;) On the sides are our pretty friends SiewLi and Regina.

The Food

Phototaking before we part our ways.

Food Verdict: Overall, worth to visit again as the environment was cozy but some of the main korea speciality were quite disappointing.

The BAD ~ The Ginseng Chicken was good but not really fantastic as it was slightly bland. The Ddeokbokee (Rice cake in spicy sauce) was slightly overcooked and thus lacked the 'Q' texture. Our order came with a 'red-colored soup' which I assumed was the Kimchi soup... The rice in stone pot was too sticky and the bottom of the rice was not crispy which should be the characteristic of the stone pot.

The GOOD ~ The side dishes were so much better than the main casts. First dish, mashed potato, slightly sweet and delicious which we assume it was a mixture of sweet and normal potatos. Fried transparent noodle was yummy, it was finished in a real jiffy;p Mini pancakes were also nice. Meat were not bad too but still cannot be compared to what I ate in Korea, hee... I am really a fussy eater ;p

Last Note: Whether the food is good or bad is not a big concern to me for this outing as I am really happy to celebrate my birthday with a group of 'old' friends. Hope this can be a yearly affair :)

Visiting Kwang Wei and Xiao Wei to see their cute cute new born baby girl.

Dinner at Hanabi Katong Mall

Sunday, 9th November 2008

Japanese Buffet!!! My Favourite!!!
Fish were fresh enough, however, they were thickly sliced which we think was not up to standard. The girls
The guys
The restaurant decor

Our last order was noodle soup which was not bad.

Verdict: Staffs were not attentive enough although the Manager was friendly and the staffs' attitude was alright. Food was slightly above average but variety was good. If you really love sashimi like me, you will not want to patronise again as their skill in cutting the fishes was real bad...

Shokudo at Bugis

Saturday, 11th October 2008

Forgot to mention about my supper at Shokudo.

Went ther after KTV session at Top One. The KTV was cheaper than Kbox and Party World, selection of songs was wide and service was good. Most important part is that the drinks are free flow! A must have for hardcore singers! Too bad the echo is too obvious otherwise it would have become my No. 1 Choice. Did not remember to take photos of the KTV. Hope to post some pic after my next visit.

Back to the main subject ----- Shokudo
We ordered the mushroom pasta which tasted ok but not up to expectation.
Restaurant Deco is modern and comfy

Blueberry Cheesecake --- Disappointing. It was not lousy but it just lack the overall punch.

Verdict: The restaurant is so comfy that I would give it one more chance. Maybe I will try other branches at CityLink and Cineleisure...

School of Makeup Foundation and Eyelashes Project

Monday, 3rd November 2008

Spent the whole of Friday and Saturday to finish my Foundation Project and False Eyelashes Project.

This was easier than the eyelashes project. Mine was a very simple idea. When I saw how creative my classmates' project were, I felt a bit overwhelmed as I did not know that everyone made so much effort. I think I must buck up!

When I was thinking of what to put on the lashes, my mine was blank. I really fail at creativity. Ideas just popped up whenever I foul up my "not-so-great" ideas. I really thank god for giving me inspiration, otherwise I would not have come up with the following.

I really like my lashes, i gave it a name called the "Hua Hua Shi Jie" 花花世界(Flower World) as every lash has flower on it. I think my lashes are feminine and nice. I simply love it although I dont know what my teacher thinks about it.

Yaki Yaki Bo Japanese Restaurant Jurong Point

Saturday, 25th October 2008

Went to this 'Japanese Street' in Jurong Point, with every restaurant selling Japanese Food. We chose to dine at Yaki Yaki Bo which is located at the end of the 'street'

I think this is Okonomuyaki. (Tasted like Takoyaki ---Japanese Octopus ball) There were several flavours for you to choose. We choose a seafood set that comes with rice and side dishes.

Similar to normal Teppanyaki

Chicken and Prawn on Garlic Bread - The bread itself was tasty, the chicken and prawn was only above average

There were several tables with different chefs. 'Our chef' was the 'slow and steady' type, which in Hokkien means 'Kang Hu Bei Gao', in Cantonese means 'breathless wok'. Get what I am trying to say? Well, to put it in simple words --- Food is blandly bland....???!!!

Server helped us wear the 'dining apron', those type that you sometimes see people wearing when they eat crab.

The most edible food in our set.

The rice was a real disappointment. I only managed to eat 2 spoonful.
Green Tea was terrible. It was so bland that I thought they forgot to add tea in. When I ask the waitress about it, she give us a very lame answer. She simply replied "This is green tea, green tea taste like that." *Faintz*

Verdict:
Overall experience was less than satisfactory. Weird combination of Garlic Bread with Prawn and Chicken. Tea tasted like plain water. Garlic Fried Rice tasted like plain rice with oil. The onion bowl chawanmushi (not in the picture) was interesting but slightly overcooked. Okonomuyaki (the main course) was alright but i rather eat the cheaper version (Takoyaki). What more can I say...

School of Makeup Day 1

Monday, 20th October 2008

Finally made up my mind to sign up for makeup course. Lots of research and friends' advice prompted me to choose School of Makeup instead of Cosmoprof.

First Day at School was a short 3 hour intro to products that we should purchase.

The first person I chatted with was Joanne, during packing of the products that we bought from the school. Coincidences do happen and ever so often. Joanne live in AMK. Her bf is also from Batu Pahat like Kelvin. We chatted along the way to MRT Station and parted as she was meeting her friend and I was going home.

Went home and started taking photos of all the products individually and categorised. Below are the categorised ones.

Can you see my toes peeping at the bottom? ;p
